Medicinal herbs and superfood for optimal animal health

From 7 to 10 May, Worlée will present raw materials for special requirements at the Zoomark in Italy.

Whether working to prevent future illness or naturally supporting the recovery process, the vital ingredients found in medicinal herbs and vitamin rich superfoods bring about convincing results. These products have become firmly established in many people’s kitchen cupboards and medicine cabinets. For some time now, these natural healing helpers have also had a greater role to play in the pet food industry. At this year’s Zoomark in Bologna (Hall 22 Stand C91), Worlée NaturProdukte will demonstrate the wide range of possibilities for horses, dogs, cats, and rodents in the area of medicinal herbs and superfood.

The blue-green algae spirulina, for example, has long been known to bind with toxins in the body, serving as a preventive measure against infections. This superfood can help with brittle claws and dull fur as well as low energy levels and abdominal complaints. Grape seed flour, on the other hand, is rich in both dietary fiber and antioxidants, reducing the oxidative stress that can lead to illnesses such as cardiovascular disease. In recent years, psyllium seed husks have proven themselves in the field of diet products, as their expansion in the gastrointestinal tract gently helps with appetite control for overweight animals.

Worlée also offers a wide selection of high quality raw materials in the area of more traditional medicinal herbs. The north German family company’s range of products has grown to include more than 60 medicinal herbs such as chamomile or nettles, many of which are available in both conventional and organic quality. For its processing and refining, Worlée combines its modern technologies with the experience of many years to achieve a quality level that often even exceeds the requirements of the food industry. Along with individual raw materials, the family company also develops custom blends (fruits, vegetables, herbs) that are specially tailored to customer needs. Many of the raw materials are available in different cut sizes.

As an alternative to regular fruit and vegetable blends, Worlée also offers herbal pellets. This compact product with its finely-pressed particles leaves no possibility for finicky eaters to be selective. The Hamburg company uses absolutely no additives for these pellets, making them particularly healthy and digestible. Many of the raw materials are also available in granulated form.
