Before tea finally reaches customers’ cups, its various raw materials have already travelled a lengthy path (Employee magazine Achtzehn 51, Issue 1, p.18 f.). Worlée obtains its fruits and herbs from sources around the world, such as hibiscus from Nigeria, rooibos from South Africa or rose hips from Chile. Thanks to long-standing partnerships with suppliers from countries of origin, Worlée can guarantee that only high-quality raw materials are used in the refinement process. This ensures that purchased materials meet the highest quality standards and are available throughout the year. Our employees regularly travel to countries of origin to inspect quality standards for themselves and to share their expertise. Likewise, the family company Worlée supports numerous organic and Fairtrade projects.
Worlée’s goal is to exclusively sell products that ensure an incomparable experience in tea enjoyment. While everything possible can be done in countries of origin to yield an excellent raw product, that is not sufficient for the attainment of this self-defined goal. In order to fulfil its own standards, Worlée has designed a quality management system that has received DIN EN ISO 22000, FSSC 2000 and HACCP certification and guarantees the highest quality levels thanks to its combination of the most modern technology and work carried out by hand. Worlée offers this superior quality for blends, product line concepts and individual raw materials. Many raw materials are available in organic and Fairtrade quality, such as green tea from Sri Lanka, about which more information is available here. (Employee magazine Achtzehn 51, Issue 1, p.8 f.)
As in the world of fashion, new trends are constantly making their presence known in the tea market. These can be rather short-lived or, as currently exemplified by green tea, may prove to be quite enduring. In order to constantly stay one step ahead, the in-house tea development team actively gathers information about developing trends and uses this data to regularly develop new, creative tea compositions. Ready access to raw materials from around the world facilitates extreme creativity and a high degree of innovation. The team finds external inspirations at international specialty exhibitions or on business trips abroad. Optimal working conditions have been made possible through the opening of the new R&D centre in September 2017. In the new tea development laboratory, every new blend is inspected for colour, taste and smell. Furthermore, it is possible to participate in workshops or tastings together, which is an ideal way to specifically address customer wishes. From tea for colds to detox tea – the tea development team is pleased to assist you with the formulation of your own specific product requirements.
