Valuable ingredients for food supplements

From 11 to 13 March the family company Worlée will present the current raw material trends for food supplements at Engredea 2016 in Anaheim (USA).

In our hectic everyday life, it is often not easy to find time for a balanced diet. Food supplements can help provide us with important vitamins, minerals and secondary plant compounds. For many years, the German company Worlée has offered raw materials for the food supplements sector – in the area of medicinal herbs itself, the portfolio has increased by more than 100 products. Worlée will present a large selection of its product range at Engredea in Anaheim from 11 to 13 March (booth 353).

Some consumers might have pet food in mind when thinking about dandelion root, and others might associate licorice root with nothing more than licorice, but all of these plants feature special ingredients that have a positive impact on us and our bodies. The ingredients of licorice root can be helpful, for example, in the treatment of upper respiratory diseases, while dandelion root, on the other hand, may be used for cases of appetite loss. From powder for pills to fine cut for herbal teas – the options are endless. Moreover, with aloe vera, Worlée has an ingredient in its product range that contains polysaccharides, vitamins and minerals and is used more and more by soft drink and tea manufacturers all over the world. Furthermore, there is strong demand in the food supplements industry for seaweed which is also used in pet food.

Along with all of these products, Worlée processes and refines several products in the area of extracts. Gums such as myrrh and frankincense have long been said to have anti-inflammatory and disinfecting effects. They are available in different qualities and sizes and are used in the beverage industry as well as for medicinal purposes.

All in all, visitors to Engredea 2016 can look forward to a wide diversity of medicinal herbs and special products that are complemented by high quality raw materials such as red bell pepper, parsley, spinach and wild growing mushrooms such as porcini and boletus luteus.
