Worlée’s product highlights at BIOFACH 2018

At BIOFACH in Nuremberg, the mid-sized company from northern Germany will present its newest product innovations.

Since 1990, representatives, industry experts and well-known companies have come together every year in Nuremberg for the BIOFACH exhibition. This year, Worlée will shine a spotlight on diverse product highlights from its organic product range here at the world’s leading trade fair for organic food products from 14 until 17 February.

Along with an extensive offering of over 450 organic products, Worlée will also present its product highlights including turmeric, ginger, mango and coconut. Further, the newest projects in the focus of its research and development centre will be introduced.

Turmeric
As a raw material, turmeric is used in numerous products in the food and drinks industry. Tea blends with the yellow superfood are presently enjoying particular popularity with end consumers. “Turmeric Latte“ is one example of a current favourite. The organic turmeric is supplied by our own farming projects in the countries of origin Sri Lanka and Madagascar and subsequently brought to the Hamburg production facility for refining. This root product is available from the northern German raw materials refiner with organic, Fairtrade, Naturland, NOP, JAS and Bio-Suisse certification.

Ginger
Fruity-spicy ginger is used in baked goods, sweets and tea blends. The wide variety of different ginger taste nuances stems largely from the varying growing regions of the product. The raw materials supplier offers ginger from diverse places of origin, such as organic ginger from Burkina Faso and Sri Lanka. As a result, Worlée is then able to offer customers ginger in differing strengths as desired, and in Hamburg the raw materials can then be further processed according to individual specifications. Along with fine cut ginger, coarse cut and powder forms may also be produced. The family company offers this root product with organic, Fairtrade, Naturland, NOP, JAS and Bio-Suisse certification.

Mango
The sweet taste of dried mangoes from Burkina Faso makes them ideal for use in cereals, cereal bars and tea blends. However, mango slices are also a very popular choice for this fruit. Worlée offers two different varieties, namely, Books and Amélie. Both types are organic, Fairtrade and NOP certified and originate from one of our own partner projects in Burkina Faso. This close partnership guarantees both consistency of product quality as well as maintenance of environmental and social standards.

Coconut
With its natural sweetness and unique taste, coconut gives a special taste to every baked good, cocktail or Asian dish in which it is found. This exotic product from Sri Lanka and the Philippines may be used flexibly due to its diverse qualities and cut sizes. All varieties of coconut, including grated form in differing sizes, natural or toasted chips, cubes, flour and spray-dried coconut milk powder are organic, Fairtrade and Bio-Suisse certified. Particularly in the case of spray-dried coconut milk powder, the gentle production allows for retention of all valuable nutrients.

Research and development with a new polish
With its new research and development centre, consisting of a technical centre, show kitchen and tea development laboratory, Worlée can now offer its organic customers an even more extensive range of diverse services. From workshops to tastings to trainings to development of small or large samples, the Worlée R&D team is pleased to advise customers regarding their specific wishes and questions.
