Together with the 37 "climate protection companies" Worlée saves 1.4 million tons of CO2

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the association "Klimaschutz-Unternehmen e.V." presents the joint CO² savings of its 37 member companies, which have together saved 1.4 million tonnes of CO² since 2009. This corresponds to the average annual consumption of 123,000 German citizens or the annual energy consumption of all private individuals in a medium-sized city. The cross-industry association brings together companies of all sizes, from small businesses to family-run world market leaders to large international corporations. Its members are characterised by ambitious climate protection targets and special achievements in energy saving. The climate protection companies are actively taking on their pioneering role and have published over 150 best practice examples of energy saving since their foundation. 

At the ceremony with 160 invited guests, Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze paid tribute to the joint savings efforts for CO² of the climate protection companies. In his speech, Jan Eschke, Chairman of Klimaschutz-Unternehmen e.V. and authorized signatory of Worlée Chemie, made clear the motivation for CO² savings: "We want to show that climate protection and economic success belong together in companies. Climate protection companies invest in climate protection in order to position their company sustainable. Today we have the responsibility to act in order to achieve the 2° target for global climate protection. We are very pleased that Worlée is part of this initiative and is pursuing these essential climate protection goals together with the other companies". 

The members of the association showed how exciting and varied the concrete measures for climate protection and energy saving in companies are during today's conference. The activities of the younger generation in companies are a particular focus: Apprentices from four climate protection companies show what the next generation can do in companies.
