Social Engagement

A finished product has a long path to follow before it departs our warehouse. Many people contribute their experience and hard work to this process. These are precisely the people who make our raw materials so valuable. Without them, we would not be where we are today. As a family company, it is important to us to make social issues a particular priority along with economic and ecological factors.

Within the company

Back pains, muscle strains or posture problems let us know that we do not always move in a way that is best for us, whether in the workplace or during leisure time. As such, it is important to establish measures to offset stress factors and in this way avoid long-term damage.

Worlée-Chemie has developed an extensive prevention program for its employees in recent years that is finely tuned to meet individual needs. Along with offering subsidized fitness club memberships, we also give our staff the opportunity to take advantage of on-site massages and back health training courses.

Our yearly Health Day takes this one step further, when we offer numerous preventive measures ranging from eye tests to computer-assisted spine measurements to nutritional consultations.
But even beyond such health issues, we are also always attentive to our employees’ needs. Flexible work times and working hour models as well as a private supplemental health insurance plan for longtime employees are just a few examples of our efforts in this direction.

We recruit young talent mainly from our own training programmes and thereby ensure the sustainable development of our personnel. We are delighted to see many of our skilled employees spend many years at our company. A growing number of employees spend their entire work life at Worlée-Chemie.

Outside the company

As one of the largest local employers, Worlée-Chemie is actively involved in a number of different projects taking place in Lauenburg, including regular support for schools and childcare facilities. But Worlée-Chemie is also looking to attract young talent from beyond the city borders – at trade exhibitions such as the IdeenExpo in Hanover and at the training events for Energy Scouts.

There are many different ways in which we seek to make contact with a variety of interest groups: product presentations at trade exhibitions, various engagements and lectures at industry associations, and our global on-site customer care provided by our technical field service. Regular dialogue with local committees and institutions (e.g. the voluntary fire brigade) is as much a part of these efforts as openness to our employees, their needs and ideas.

In an effort to maximise transparency, Worlée-Chemie regularly opens its doors to visitors: our factories regularly welcome visitors from the press, politics, public authorities, associations, schools and other interested citizens and hold an open day for our neighbours and other interested persons every three to four years.
