Our social responsibility as a family-owned company

A lot goes on before a finished product is ready to leave our warehouse. Countless people invest endless effort and experience in these processes. These employees are who make our raw materials so special – without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

As a family-owned company and system-relevant processor and trader of renewable resources, it is not only important to us to pay close attention to ecological and economic factors, but also to social issues.

Social commitment within the company

As part of our forward-looking, employee-oriented personnel policy, a comprehensive preventative programme has been developed for Worlée NaturProdukte GmbH over the past few years, which is adapted to the individual needs of each employee. This spans voluntary insurance benefits, supplements for company pension schemes, fitness subsidies, fresh fruit, health days, massage offers and much more.

Of course, in addition to health, the safety of our employees in the workplace is our foremost priority. A comprehensive occupational safety management system at our sites ensures healthy, safe working conditions.

We provide for our young talent through a range of apprenticeships. Subjects such as the environment and sustainability have already been an integral part of our training schedules for some time. Department placements offer trainees the opportunity to learn and experience how the company embraces sustainability in practice.

Social commitment beyond the company

Our social commitment stretches far beyond the gates of Worlée. As a North German company, we are actively involved in various regional projects and make financial donations to cultural events and social facilities. We also uphold open dialogue with municipal bodies, local institutions (e.g. the voluntary fire brigade), neighbourhood committees and other stakeholders. In order to create as much transparency as possible, we regularly open our doors to invite visitors from the press, politics, authorities, associations, schools and other interested citizens to discover our site in Hamburg.

Our plant-based products are procured from all over the world. In order to ensure that our quality standards are also observed at the source, we work closely with many of our suppliers on joint cultivation projects. Whether in India, Egypt, Madagascar, Burkina Faso or Sri Lanka (see ‘Quality and Sustainability’), as well as supporting local farmers, Worlée NaturProdukte collaborates with its partners in the cultivation regions to support public institutions such as schools or medical camps and social projects like well building. These projects make a crucial contribution to improving living standards for the local population.
