Worlée-Chemie and the "Week of industry 2019"

Under the motto "Industry connects", the family-owned company made its contribution to the "Industry Week" last Saturday in Lübeck.

The Germany-wide "Industry Week" campaign took place from 9 to 24 September 2019. Numerous companies offered visitors the opportunity to gain an insight behind the scenes of industrial companies. Worlée took the opportunity to focus on its production site in Lübeck. The aim of the medium-sized company was to focus on the topic "Industry connects - present and future. Sustainability at Worlée-Chemie".

After a short presentation of the company, a lecture on "Sustainability Management" at Worlée followed. The health management in the enterprise, the lasting procurement of raw materials and the commitment in different committees and federations were among other things presented. How energy-saving measures were successfully implemented in production was also part of the presentation.
Even more practical was the subsequent contribution "Filmbildner für eine nachhaltige Zukunft" ("Film makers for a sustainable future"). Each of the visitors was able to understand that a weather-resistant coating, for example on autobridges, makes a significant contribution to sustainability - from an economic point of view as well, of course. At the end of the presentation part, the guests were also shown the great potential of renewable, plant-based starch from potatoes or maize as a binder for paints.

The final event was a tour of the Lübeck plant. The organisation team was pleased with the positive feedback from the visitors: "We think it's great to organise the event at the Lübeck plant and show our production. If you also notice that outsiders are so interested and a young visitor even wants to apply for an internship, then we have achieved our goal," says Dirk Brune, Head of Technology / Process Engineering at Worlée and organizer of the event.
