The LONG NIGHT OF INDUSTRY at Worlée

More than 80 participants, political representatives and journalists took an exclusive look behind the scenes at Worlée last Thursday.

A facility tour, tastings and much more: on 10 November, Worlée took part in the “LONG NIGHT OF INDUSTRY” (LNDI for short) in Hamburg for the first time. In accordance with the event’s theme “Experience industry live”, Worlée provided participants with an exclusive look behind the scenes.

While it may have been dark outside, bright lights were shining at Worlée when the first bus with approx. 40 guests pulled up at Grusonstrasse 22 at 5:30 p.m. After a greeting by Worlée’s Managing Partner Reinhold von Eben-Worlée and Hamburg State Councillor Dr. Rolf Bösinger, the program was ready to begin.

Within the framework of a half-hour long presentation, participants were first given an inside look into the history of the family company, introduced to Worlée as a potential employer and trainer and amazed by impressive photos from an origin country travel report.

Afterwards, it was time to put on the protective caps and jackets. During a 30-minute facility tour, including diverse product presentations and tastings, the evening’s approx. 80 visitors were introduced to the core competencies of Worlée NaturProdukte. Younger participants were particularly impressed with the variety of production facilities and the broad range of products of the Hamburg company.

After about four and a half compelling hours, the event come to a close at 10:00 p.m., and the last guests departed the facility. “When we signed up for the Long Night of Industry, our goal was to open up communication with our neighbors and to demonstrate to interested Hamburg residents just how multi-faceted industry in the Hanseatic city can be. We are very pleased that there was such a high level of interest in getting to know our company,” said Bernd Rosenstein, Managing Director at Worlée NaturProdukte GmbH.

And why such an event? As LNDI states on its website, “Most people are only imperfectly informed about which fields of industry have made their home in Hamburg, why industry is one of the basic foundations of our economy or which resources are needed”. This reasoning inspired the guiding principle of “Bring together what belongs together” when the project was developed in 2008 on the initiative of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Never before had interested people been given the opportunity to gain such up-close experience with industry, products, job profiles and new career perspectives as on this evening. The project has been extremely well-received; indeed, over the course of time, the number of firms throughout the country taking part in the project has grown to 500 companies.
